Hey all,

Gonna make this a quick update but seeing how historically I only seem to update when there's something wrong with my life which I want to whine about, I thought I'd break the trend by mentioning that in spite of how much more complicated things are than even my last entry, I'm actually quite happy. I'd like to thank all the friends that have had to put up with my moodiness and/or have been given me helpful pointers in the right direction, including (but not limited to) Cat-chan for always being there, Master for really hitting the issue on the head, and Katie for throwing a birthday party that did wonders for my general mood.

News wise there's not that much to mention, work should've died down for the holidays that are now upon us Soton-Uni goers, but as usual the lecturers are being dicks and setting corsework that's due in just afterwards. This in a sense is why I'm glad that I'm going home straight away on Sunday rather than staying for an extra week - I need to get into a working frame of mind, seeing how much needs to be done for group projects, coursework and revision. I also won't have much money this holiday and if I stay another week I'll just want to spend money I don't have on extra parties, booze and nights out.

On the plus side, I'll get to see my local mates again, the washing will be done for me and I'll have plenty of time to plan my Aladdin-esque Role Playing setting for when we get back. After we gutted an entire fortified camp during our most recent Underdark session, I begin to really get a sense of just how much detail needs to go into the design of these things. Thinking of an over-arching plot arc isn't so tough, but much like actually sitting down to write a novel, putting in the details necessary to make someone (gamer or reader respectively) feel involved and keeping those consistent is quite challenging.

Anyway, it should be good fun. For those of you who I'll see tomorrow at the Dungeon, I anticipate much celebrations, otherwise I wish you all a thoroughly metal holiday and will catch you when I get back!
